What You'll Learn

During this one-day practical course you will:

  • Assess and manage design risks on-site, understanding what makes a design buildable.
  • Identify common construction pitfalls and how to avoid them — from detailing, insulation, airtightness to sequencing and material choices.
  • Understand in practical terms what “good” looks like for Passivhaus delivery — airtightness, thermal integrity, correct construction sequencing.
  • Work through real-life scenarios with bespoke training rigs, simulating challenges on site and learning how to respond effectively.
  • Apply Passivhaus principles to both small- and large-scale projects — understand scaling, coordination, and delivery constraints typical in commercial, residential or public-sector builds.

Who Is This Course For?

This course is ideal for:

  • Contractors, site managers, trade teams and subcontractors who want to deliver high-performance buildings to Passivhaus standard.
  • Architects, consultants, designers and project managers needing to understand buildability and coordination between design intent and on-site execution.
  • Trades and self-builders keen to gain hands-on practical experience to complement theoretical Passivhaus training.

Prerequisites: Some prior understanding of Passivhaus principles is recommended — ideally via completion of a foundational course (e.g. Certified Designer / Tradesperson) or equivalent knowledge.
